Terms & Conditions of Sale:

Please note that these Terms & Conditions are not a replacement for, but are in addition to the separate BIFA terms and conditions

Collection / Delivery

  • Moving Motorcycles endeavour to carry out collection & delivery within 3-10 working days. There are instances where this timeframe is exceeded. When this is exceeded. no cancellation charges will be brought if the customer wishes to cancel.
  • Collection and Delivery contacts will be notified of a scheduled 1-hour slot the day before collection / delivery.
  • Wherever possible we will try to accommodate customer timing requests for collection and delivery. However, our say is final. If collection/delivery points can't be available for our scheduled time slots Moving Motorcycles cannot guarantee to stay within the given timeframes. The customer understands the need for flexibility at both collection and delivery points before making a booking.
  • The scheduled time slots we give for collection and delivery are estimated times of arrival. On the collection / delivery day, customers agree to be flexible to accommodate our driver or to provide an alternative delivery address within 5 miles of the original delivery address (1 mile in cities). If the customer cannot accommodate our collection/delivery and if no alternative collection / delivery address can be provided, then the vehicle may be recovered to our central motorcycle store and a ‘Failed Delivery/Collection’ charges will be levied to the customer.
  • If Moving Motorcycles collection/delivery vehicles cannot gain safe access to within 100 metres of the collection/delivery address, then a ‘Failed Delivery/Collection’ charges will be levied to the customer.
  • If Moving Motorcycles attempts a collection or delivery after it has been agreed with the collection/delivery address but are unable to carry out safe collection or delivery for any reason, then a ‘Failed Delivery/Collection’ charge will be levied to the customer.
  • Our drivers will only wait for a maximum of 15 minutes free at a Collection/Delivery point, after which we will wait an additional 30 mins and an extra charge of £25 will be levied. After 45 minutes the bike will be returned to our motorcycle store and a ‘Failed Delivery/Collection’ charge equivalent to the full transport charge will be applied.
  • Moving Motorcycles hold no liability for any associated costs with any delays in collecting the vehicle e.g. storage charges, hire car costs, auction house costs

Delays:

  • We are not responsible for delays outside our control. If our performance of the services is affected by an event outside of our control, then we will take steps to minimise the effect of the delay and/or disruption. We will not be liable for delays or disruption caused by the event outside of our control.

Vehicles in transit

Vehicle Size

  • Pricing is based on standard manufacturer vehicle specifications. Specifications outside of the standard manufacturer’s length, width, height and dimensions must be highlighted to Moving Motorcycles at the time of booking and additional charges may be applied.

Vehicle Value

  • Moving Motorcycles must be notified in writing of any vehicles value at or above GBP 50,000 so we can quote accordingly and plan our loading to ensure the load of each of our transporters does not exceed GBP 400,000 in value.
  • Where proof of value is required for customs purposes, a true and accurate valuation must be provided. Any storages, waiting time or additional disbursements arising from customs inspections or misdeclaration will be charged to the customer for payment in full prior to delivery.

Sidecar Bodies (only)

  • Detached Sidecars may be collected / delivered only if the sidecar is attached to a suitable ‘dolly’ or if an additional able bodied person is available at both the collection and delivery address to assist our driver.
  • A ‘Failed Collection/Delivery’ charge equivalent to the total charge will be levied when sidecars are neither attached to a suitable dolly and no able-bodied persons are available to assist our driver at collection/delivery addresses.
  • The customer confirms that the vehicle to be transported by Moving Motorcycles is of sound cosmetic, mechanical and structural integrity as to prevent damage being incurred to the vehicle in transit by means of our safe securing systems. Moving Motorcycles will not be liable for damages incurred to vehicles not of sound cosmetic, mechanical or structural integrity.

Rollability/Rollable

  • ‘Rollable’ means that the vehicle must be freewheeling and without resistance.
  • All vehicles to be collected must be ‘rollable’ in such a way that they may be loaded by our driver.
  • Vehicles with a kerb weight over 250Kg must either be driveable to enable our driver to load the vehicle onto our transporter under its own power. When a vehicle is not driveable, then an additional able-bodied person must be available at the collection address to assist our driver with the loading.
  • When a vehicle is not rollable or no-one can be available at the collection and delivery addresses to assist our driver, then we must be notified of this at the time of booking to enable us to apply a charge to send an additional person with our driver. This charge will be calculated on a case per case basis. Where we are not notified that a vehicle is not rollable or an additional person is not available to assist our driver, then a a ‘Failed Delivery/Collection’ charge equivalent to the full transport charge will be applied along with additional charges to send an additional person with our driver. This charge will be calculated on a case per case basis.

Vehicle Condition

  • The vehicle must be clean suitable for shipment. Any charges levied by third party carriers as a result of cleanliness or leaks will be charged to the account of the invoice party. Professional cleaning may be organised for an additional charge if needed.
  • All vehicles must have no more than 2 litres of fuel remaining in the tank

Additional Items:

  • There are no additional charges for a set of detachable panniers /top boxes per motorcycle or a single roll bag/box up to 60 x 60 x 60cm @15Kg accompanying a motorcycle.
  • Additional items must be clearly labelled displaying our Job number, vehicle registration number and the delivery address.
  • Additional items must be wrapped and packed prior to our collection to prevent damages in transit.
  • Any further additional Items or items outside the prementioned parameters will carry additional charge.
  • Moving Motorcycles will not be liable for loss or damages incurred to any additional items not labelled or suitably packed for transit prior to our collection.
  • Moving Motorcycles do not insure or hold any liability for any items collected unless specifically set up in writing prior to collection taking place

Documents & Keys

  • To be posted by the seller or safely secured to the motorcycle in a way as to prevent loss in transit or damage to the motorcycle.
  • Moving Motorcycles cannot be held liable for losses to Documents and Keys not securely attached to the vehicle. They must be attached in such a way that it does not prevent or hinder our driver in securing the motorcycle down for transport.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation after booking but before collection has been scheduled with the collection address will be charged to the customer at 25% of the agreed price.
  • Cancellations made after the collection day and time has been scheduled with the collection contact will be subject to 100% of the total transport charge.
  • For event transportation we require 14 days’ notice prior to event start of notice of cancellation for our services otherwise no refund can be given
  • We offer no refunds due to delays outside of our control
  • Our administration fee is non refundable and deducted from any refund due to cancellation of our services.
  • We reserve the right to terminate our contract for the following reasons:
    • Non payment of our service in reasonable time and / or in the payment schedule set out in advance.
    • Abusive / rude / agressive behaviour towards our staff.
    • Breach of contract
    • For any reason, at our sole discretion

Wait Whilst you Pay Service

  • This is not an inspection service, so we are unable to check history, detailed condition or the mechanical standing of the vehicle. Moving Motorcycles are in any way liable for suitability of the vehicle to the customers’ expectations.
  • Our driver will remain onsite for 30 minutes with the vehicle. Additional waiting time is then charged at GBP 35 per additional 30 minutes.

Claims for Damage

Any damage deemed by the customer to have been caused to the vehicle whilst in our care must be brought to the delivery drivers attention. Once our driver has left the delivery address, no claims for damages will be accepted. Each vehicle is covered on our liability whilst in our care and full details and the limits of our liability may be found here, in our Evidence of our Freight Liability Insurance detailing this Cover No claims for damages will be accepted as a result of poor condition of the vehicle. This includes damages caused from the failure of any parts

Payment Terms

  • Non account customers without credit terms; payment must be made at the time of booking either by card payment or bank transfer.
  • Account customers with credit terms, must ensure payments are settled within 15 days of invoice.
  • For any international journeys, any import duties, taxes, use of deferment, additional disbursements and storages will be charged to the customer separately. Payment must be settled immediately on invoice. Any charges incurred whilst waiting for payment will be charged to the customer for immediate payment.
  • Any International payment or CHAPS fees are for the account of the payee. The correct funds must arrive in our account in order for the invoice to be considered paid.
  • International Transport Documents

    Export Licensing

    • For vehicles over 50 years old and over GBP 39,000 in value, export licensing may be required to legally remove the vehicle from the collection country. Please ensure you have any licenses in place before booking transport. Any additional costs, penalties and additional disbursements incurred as a result of no license will be charged directly to the customer plus a ‘Failed Collection Charge’

    ATA Carnets

    • ATA Carnets are currently required for the temporary import of vehicles into the European Union. Please ensure this is in place prior to booking. Moving Motorcycles can assist and organise this for you. Charges will apply for this service.

    Special Documents & Permits

    • The customer should satisfy themselves that they have any required special documentation and/or permits in place prior to commencing transport.

    Additional Charges Summary

    • ‘Failed Delivery/Collection’ Charge: This is an additional charge amounting to 100% of the total collection/delivery charge payable by the customer if collection/delivery cannot be made within the parameters laid out within these here Terms & Conditions.
    • ‘Additional Person’ Charge. This is to be applied when our driver will need assistance with collection/delivery and no one can be onsite to help our driver. This charge will be calculated on a case per case basis.
